Clean installed Windows 10 last night after installing a new kaby lake cpu. My issue is, I installed playerunknowns battlegrounds and it is completely stuck on loading screens. I can hear game audio, and voice chat but I'm still on a loading screen until someone punches me to death.
Opened task manager to see that my hdd is at 100% usage constantly, even idle with no programs open. So, I Google it and tried these fixes:
Disabled Windows search
Disabled superfetch
After disabling search the hdd drastically dropped to 1% idle, so I started the game back up only to see it spike to 100% again and remain there even after exiting the game. On to disable superfetch. Again, drastically dropped to 4% usage.
I noticed that my pc was only recognizing one stick of my dual channel ram. Opened the case and one of them was slightly loose, so it's been reseated. I had to leave the pc after that for work, do you think that was my issue? Of course I will try it again when I get home from work, I just want some reassurance that any of the last changes I did could resolve the issue. If not, what other solutions can I try?
