100% disk utilisation and 'System' process is the main culprit

I have disabled superfetch and windows search, reinstalled windows and the issue still persists. It doesn't happen always but it happens periodically and has been at 100% for the past two days. I want a permanent fix. On games such as Fortnite and GTA V it runs unusually slow with disk util at 100%. Is it worth upgrading from a hard drive to an SSD, as i read some laptops have faulty hard drive ? My laptop is a Lenovo ideapad 310 i5.

aphil.unofficial, it could be many things that are affecting you. Try using SeaTools on the drive and see what the results are. Also, take a look at this link.
