100% GPU Usage on 1070 card playing COD WW2?

GE Force GTX 1070
MSI B350 Motherboard
Samsung 960 EVO M.2
Ripjaw V 16 GB DDR 3200 Ram
Asus VG248QE 24" 1080 144h Monitor

My CPU is running the game - High graphics across the board - at 50% - 60% usage
GPU is Running at 100% usage.

I undated my GPU driver last week with the release of Star Wars - so I am at a loss as to why this awesome card is so stressed. Game is set to 144h for monitor.

Well, that's actually Awesome, that's mean you get all of your gpu power, and your cpu is not bottlenecking

Sounds ok to me because you playing at 144hz. Dont worry about it

How many FPS is the card generating? If its over 144, turn on v-sync or enable a 144 frame limiter.

I am running an average of 75 to 80 FPS - and the game is jerky, with jump frames and sudden half second frame skips, feels laggy. My internet connection is 80 mbps down / 15 up.

Also, if this game makes the GPU run at 100% instead of say easily running the game at 60% of capacity - I won't be able to run high graphics on new games as they come out over the next 2/3 years.

I don't own the new COD, but I do own the new starwars. My 1070 usage in that game is only 30-40% on maximum settings, for 1080p, as a reference. Locked at 60FPS though. What is your usage/frames like in Battlefront? Battlefront is MUCH better optimized than cod.

I'm asking as this is likely because COD is not well optimized, not because of your card.

I have GTX 1070 100% usage in WWII with 130-200+fps ultra 1080p 144Hz. Surely you must get more than 80fps.

100% gpu usage is good, it means you have no other bottlenecks holding back your gpu. Also your fps look right if running max settings
