I just have Realized that so many people have 100tb storage full of stuff and when I started calculating for myself I am a little confused. What all stuff do you have that takes so much space? Videos, songs what all things actually and why? Thank you

Right.
But the initial claim was:
"I just have Realized that so many people have 100tb storage full of stuff "

100TB now, not 5-10 yrs from now.
And "so many people".

Of COURSE the needed drive space increases. A LOT.
10 yrs ago (2007), 2TB was a lot. Today, trivial.
I have about 25TB drive space available, scattered among the systems in the house.

But the claim of "100tb storage full of stuff", today, is simply...

Question from Apaar_ : "100 tb storage"

Games, applications, documents, movies, music, and just about everything else you can think of. I have what I think of as a lot of games, about 200 of them ranging from the 80s to modern games. Those games alone take up about 2 TB worth of space. Applications take up a couple more, then there are all of the emails, documents, databases, and code that I have kept over the past 30 years that take up 7 TB. Movies and music are another 10 TB. All of that is why I am thrilled with how quickly storage capacity is increasing. Do I have 100 TB of drive space available? No, I have 30 TB, though with the larger 10 TB drives available today I am seriously thinking about setting up a much larger raid system so that I can make multiple backups. Yes, I do have backups of all my data on optical media, but those are my emergency backups.

So yeah, I could easily see someone that had similar hobbies to me but ran a large business or two needing much more drive space than I need. Heck with the price of larger drives coming down because of new products that will soon enter the market, I have no doubt that such systems will be fairly common. Oh and let's not forget that with the increased storage available today, most developers really do not care how large their applications and games become. I mean compare the average size of a game from today, to one from just 5 years ago. We are talking a massive amount of data!

A perfect example, take the Deus Ex games. Deus Ex Human Revolution takes up around 8 GB worth of drive space while Deus Ex Mankind Divided takes up about 60 GB worth of drive space. I have no doubt that because of ever-improving graphics, games 5 years from now will take up 150-200 GB of drive space

And that the OP has not been back since posting this brain dump just reinforces that thought.
