Additional Comments: I do a visualizations for CAT and MRI scans simultaneously, while also allowing me to have around 15 internet pages open at once. I will be dong some gaming, but that is not primary priority. I care most about 3+ monitors running standard programs

I'm not the one to ask about compatibly, but do you think you could but an SSD in there for a boot and main program drive I think it would improve performance.

You will need to replace your video card within that 6 year time frame... Probably need to be done 3-4 years down the road to keep up with games, if not sooner.

As far as compatibility, your chosen parts should work.

If you don't want to upgrade the graphics in a few years then you would need to have at least a GTX 590 or Radeon 6990. Even then you're pushing it... might need two GTX 590s or two 6990s for a six year run. If a single 590 or 6990 doesn't do the job then maybe two dual Radeon 6870s will, it's cheaper than two 590s or two 6990s.

Then theres the problems associated with multi-GPU setups. Micro-stutter shouldn't be much of a problem but some programs dislike dual GPU setups and just hate quad GPU setups.

Long term future proofing with graphics is kinda a pipe dream.

Like the above poster suggests, with your budget you should have room for a solid state drive because it relieves the single greatest bottleneck of computer performance: the hard drive.

lol, 2x 590's = 4 580's. because the 590 has to GPU's onboard. And since he does not want to overclock he may run into bottlenecks. But I have never tried it and never will so...

LOL 2 590s does NOT equal four 580s. Four 580s would be faster, more expensive, and less likely to work. Each GPU in a 590 is clocked slower than a 580 because of heat problems, as is the memory. Four 580s would also (obviously) use more electricity than two 580s.
