I'm looking to build a new pc for around $1000 AUD and since nvidia's new 1000 series is coming out Im looking for a build that will have a gtx 1070 because its better than a titan X and its WAY cheaper

Thanks in advance!

When it comes to building a budget pc you have to remember 2 things. 1. Build with a purpose 2. Build for performance

You are wanting to drop parts in a build that will suffer because you won't be able to afford the parts to work cohesively without bottle necking.

If you are looking to build soon check out the build below. It is a mid range budget gaming build that will play any game aside from AAA games at ultra with little to no problem. Its also very eye pleasing in the black/white style, has low energy draw, and will run pretty quiet.

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($194.99 @ SuperBiiz)
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG H7 49.0 CFM CPU...
If you're not looking to overclock, you can delete the cooler and use a cheaper motherboard and DDR4 2133 and put that money into an SSD. If you're trying to have the build include the GTX 1070 in $1000.00 budget, not gonna happen. It will be over half the budget alone and you won't be able to use a processor that wouldn't severely bottleneck it.

You might be able to squeeze a PC with a 1070 into that budget if you buy an i3, if you only spend $150 - $200 on RAM, motherboard, HDD/SSD and a PSU. You can't really put together anything worthwhile with a GTX 1070 with that kind of budget and you'd actually be better off drooping the 1070 for a 960 + i5-6500. $1000 AUD probably isn't enough for a proper experience for the type of gaming you would like on the 1070.

yeah, if u had $1350-$1400 and u wanted to OC but if u dont then its doable if u dont want an OC'ing cpu

You are dreaming . No way to get a build under $1000 AU with a GTX 1070 . Well , not until about 2019 anyway

But a budget build that might be worth adding a GTX 1070 to looks something like this

Use a B150 mb rather than the H110 boards . B150 is stronger in every way

On top of that you will almost certainly be paying $500 + for the graphics card .

DDR3 not recommended for Skylake

i have no idea why it went to pd3 from p good catch i meant the ddr4 version LOl

Can't put a build together with a unreleased GPU.
PLE Computers Australia has already said the 1070 Founders edition will cost roughly $671 AUD. And other editions of the cards should be about $100 less hopefully. But I think they are going to be no less than $600. So you will have then $400 for the rest of your PC, lol. Not gonna happen. A budget of $1500 will be more realistic.

might as well just paypal someone the cost of the card in USD then pay for shipping and have it marked as a gift to avoid the tax ect lol 600 wow aus to usd is alot!

Welcome to Australia where everything is overpriced, especially considering that the AUD is currently horrible. $1000 AUD won't get you a GTX 1070. That GPU will be $550-600 alone. Not unless you want a crappy power supply, motherboard, processor, case. $1500 is the minimum I'm guessing.

Not sure if it's overpricing. Read before that the minimum salary there is so much higher in a way that if it was like US prices, it would actually be way cheaper in comparison to the US. It just looks cheap when you directly compare the prices to US.

True, but for many people in Australia that don't have a part time job yet then it's insanely expensive.

Its all about currency valuations .

Right now you need $1.37 AU to buy $1 US
Instantly anything traded internationally in US dollars is 37% more expensive .

And then since volumes are lower and there is less competition prices are usually higher again

The power supply you would get to put in that $400 pc would probably murder the card anyway. It cost me $850 last year to buy my gtx 980 so yes, Australia has bad prices... good thing i intend to ignore the 1000 series as i cannot afford a new card now, and don't want/need a new one until they can run my screen in 60fps and have good effects.
