I'm building a $1000 gaming pc (in theory, im not actually building one) and i've decided to roll with these parts (LINK: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/PcG4mG)
What should I change, and where can I save a couple of pennies? Also would it be of my best interest to wait for the AMD 300 series?

Thanks for your time.

I made it a little better.
You can't tell the difference between this i5 and the i5 that you had chosen.
A good quality psu is put.
A 280x is added.

Hope this helped!
Yes, it would be best if you wait for the 300 series.
PS= How do you feel that you your team has wwon the world cup? (Assuming you ARE Australian 😀)

ADDED A SSD AND A SEMI MODULAR PSU , SHOULD HELP YOU IN CABLE MANAGEMENT
no one misses out a ssd while building a pc now

Thank you very much, also in regards to the 'World Cup' question, I dont follow sports that much to be honest so I have no clue what you're talking about haha. Thanks again though.

Thanks for the suggestions!
