I am looking for a $1000 pc build, but I don’t know if I should go with the rx 580, gtx 1060 or spend a little more on the Zotac gtx 1080. If the 1080 how can I stay within the $1000 budget. also I am looking for a budget 1440p gaming monitor.

I would actually suggest you to go for a Vega 56 gpu.

Use AMD StoreMI till you can afford a 250/500gb ssd.
