[SOLVED] $1000 Custom Build OR Prebuilt PC advice

Hey everyone, several years ago I asked for some advice on a PC build that I am still using to this day (with a few upgrades). I am looking to hand this PC down to one of my kids and I am going to be upgrading. I have $1,000 to either build a new one or buy one.

My current build is:
i5-3470 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
1 TB SSD and 2 TB HDD
Graphics card is a RX 580 8gb

If I am going to build a new one, I will need a new OS as I will not be taking any parts (except for a HDD that has pics on it) out of the current one. I want to be able to play games, but I don't really play anything that's AAA. I play League of Legends, Rogue Company, Overwatch, Conan Exiles, ARK and RUST for the most part. I also want to be able to use Davinci Resolve.

I know with parts being so expensive maybe the best bet would be to just buy a prebuilt PC. Like I was looking at the RX 5500, I just want to be able to play the games listed on high settings and be able to edit videos without lagging. If I need to spend it all then so be it. Bad timing, any video cards are expensive. If you want to do video editing I would suggest a 8 core and 32GB of ram as the MIN. 1000 dollars will so super fast. Need to double the budget. (unless you really have super low expectations)

if the kids dont' need that RX 580 I would just reuse that and build something that meets your needs.

My current PC handles basic video editing perfectly fine, I am not a "pro" and I dont do it as a business, just kinda help some youtubers with basic stuff. I currently use Hitfilm Express but want to upgrade to Davinci Resolve.

The 1660 is 600+bucks add 100 for an OS.
That does not leave much if you build with a 1000 buck budget.

If you go the BB route you might want to add a 8GB stick of ram to bring dual channel into play after you test for a month or so to make sure everything works.

Oh I totally agree with you on reusing the older components. I have no issues at all with the RX 580, I really don't NEED to upgrade. However, my daughter is turning 18 and she loves my pc and she wants to use it for college and be able to play games that she's used to. So the plan is to give her this PC and just get a different one. I am thinking though that the best plan may be to just wait a month or more until hopefully prices come back to earth. My biggest fear is just spending $1,000 on something that is slightly better. Thanks for the advice though. I will probably make another post in the next few months.

well you could just take the 580 and give her a 1050 or 1030 if she didnt mind the graphics settings. smart move my man

Or if you care enough for her, you could go change the amd ryzen 5800x to a 5700G or 5600G which is pretty good for the price and the performance, no dedicated graphics needed. Until you could afford a new gpu if you mind to. Here you go:

Performance wise, 5700G is much like 5800X with Internal GPU, CPU Performance is only slightly slower but it is Still much an upgrade compared to your i5 3470, Double the cores, double quadruple the threads, better IPC per core per clock, also power friendly. 5600G is also good if you consider to cut down budget and 2x8gb ddr4 3600 is perfect for to cut the budget,
