That should work OK.

You should get a Coolermaster Hyper 212 evo CPU cooler if you want to OC your CPU.

I believe your board is going to require a bios flash update in order to run that processor but I may be mistaken.

You'll want a Z97 board if you are buying today rather then the Z87 chipset. Guaranteed out of the box compatibility with your chosen processor, and support for Broadwell when it comes out.

Most Z87 mobos now already have the bios update to enable the use of Devils Canyon CPUs

Well, not for proper overclocking. There might be a BIOS hack out there for that one.
