Hey guys, im looking to build a gaming pc. My budget is +/-1000 dollars, not too much over though. So far, after some research ive come up with the following parts list:

Cpu: i5 4670k
Gpu: nvidia gtx760/ Amd R9 270X
Motherboard: ?
Ram: 2x4gb ddr3 1600mhz
Case: ?
Psu: 600w 80+ bronze

Feel free to change any part. I would like a motherboard that can handle some overclocking.

You will be getting 4-5 celsius cooler and 1-2FPS higher average and save $10 I edited your build m0j0. 4690k has better thermal paste and is 0.1 ghz faster and is exactly the same price. Also 750w was more than enough so I got 650w. 550w is good enough even, except that leaves little upgrade space.

I will need a new monitor soon because ill be using my 32 inch 1080p flatscreen which is just way too large. Its not a priority because I want to spend as much of my money on performance for games. In terms of OS, windows 7 or 8? Ive got both but im not sure which one will be better

Windows 7 is easier to use, i dont have Windows 8 so i cant say much about that, and as for the monitor, R u trying to include that in ur $1000 or can you increase ur budget a little bit.

These builds look great. I just reseached the 3690k and I see thats its a refresh and its the same price which is great. Can the motherboard do good overclocking? Im also excited about the 770. Thanks so much

I wont include it in my budget because im fine to play with the 32 inch for 2 months before I have enough for a solid 60hz monitor. Ive heard that windows 8 may be better because it has more updates coming etc

You'll be running most games at ultra settings 1080P 60 FPS Except for Watch Dogs ..... even dual r9295x2s can't run it smooth. How about the Asus 1080P monitor? Also if you're going to get windows 8 I heard you should get 8.1 because of some windows 8 issues. So I recommend just windows 7? Well it's up to you.
