My friend is looking for the best $1000 setup, as he is getting into pc gaming. He is going to do light editing but he has a 1080p monitor and thats what he wants to game at. So max out 1080p gaming and some editing. He also needs a keyboard and mouse, and he wants a white build with some purple and lots of rgb lights.

Solution
+ Cheaper and better PSU
+ More and better storage
+ 2x RGB 140mm fans w/ HUE+ RGB controller
+ White build

- Cheaper K/M

Oh yeah of course you CAN afford it but would you pay that amount when you know you can get it cheaper?

I mean it's a moral perspective at the end of the day, maybe my morals are twisted and I'm a sick individual (just kidding) but if I can keep money in my wallet, I'd like to. I mean if that's the case why does PCPartPicker exist, surely if it wasn't for that you'd buy all your components on one site you know.

I'm not arguing for it, I'm just saying if people are being suggested it but don't feel comfortable using it then they don't have to. I totally get what you're saying though

Maybe I'm biased because I have been a victim of Intellectual Property theft.

I'd find a small amout of respect for someone who has the guts to walk into a store and steal something off the shelf because of need and a shortage of cash. Someone who lives in mother's basement and steals software and games gets no respect from me at all.

Let's leave this thread for the OP to get the advice he came here for and await a formal verdict from above.

If you read through this https://www.polygon.com/2015/2/9/8006693/the-truth-behind-those-mysteriously-cheap-gray-market-game-codes then you will realize that Kinguin and G2A don't do enough to ensure that the keys that are sold on their platform are from legitimate sources. Allowing something which is counterfeit to be sold on your platform is certainly not ethical. For that reason I cannot support or recommend them.

EDIT: Here is what MS says about purchasing online keys:
With the exception of Product Key Cards (PKC’s) distributed with COA’s, Microsoft does not distribute products keys as standalone products. If you see a listing on an auction site, online classified ad, or other online page advertising product keys for sale, it’s a good indication that the keys are likely stolen or counterfeit. If you were to purchase and use a stolen or counterfeit product key to activate Windows installed on your PC, the key may not work for activation, may already be in use on another PC, or it might be blocked from use later by Microsoft when the key is reported stolen. The best way to get everything you expect up front is to buy genuine Microsoft software preinstalled on a new PC or genuine Microsoft software from an authorized reseller.

Same can be said about any marketplace. Things you buy from Ebay could also potentially be stolen or bought with stolen credit cards. You simply can't control everyone, that's why you buy from the ones with tons of positive reviews.

$2 over budget, add RGB at a later date with the NZXT HUE+, I'd suggest running the stock cooler for now.

It is better, you might confuse it with the older CX430.

Go with my build, it's better in every aspect and you get RGB:lol:.
You can also skip RGB now for better K&M and add RGB later, up to you which order you prefer. It would just be more convenient to add the RGB in the building process.

Incorrect, the power supply listed above is fully modular and has a higher wattage for headroom/overclock. - If you wanted to be pedantic.

The CXM aren't BAD units but they're not great. I couldn't find a fully reliable review of them yet, I'll have to wait till Jonny Guru does one or something.

The Seasonic PSU is a tried and tested PSU and has been for ages, It comes in 2 variations, a fully modular variation or a non modular but silent variation, I personally have Seasonic PSU's in 2 of my 3 rigs with the 3rd being a Superflower PSU since they're cheaper and easier to get in the UK (Via OCUK).

Your build is also not better in every way. They run the same CPU/GPU. The SSD's are different but manufactured in the same factory (WD own Sandisk). RGB lighting can be added later but IMO is more a gimmick than a must. OP's choice though.

Otherwise you'd be getting better peripherals using the G502 and the impact.

My favourite mouse and a very cost effective Cherry MX mechanical keyboard.

Thank you everyone, I will probably end up doing a mix of -HH- and TrAAst builds with the RGB, and a different keyboard and mouse, and getting a smaller SSD and changing up the case and maybe the power supply and buying some parts used just to save some money. Thank you all for your responses!

Not bad, only thing to note is peripherals, personally not a fan, I've had that mouse before, just didn't work for me. My personal favourite is the G502 by logitech BUT peripherals are a super personal thing.

Also the psu isn't great, might be worth looking at the Seasonics 520w psu's but if you've already got it, it won't kill you.
