$1000 Gaming Build, Buying Oct. 12th

I'm trying to finalize my build by Friday so that I can purchase it before the weekend. I would like to be able to play in 1920x1080 resolution, and am looking to be able to do live streaming of gameplay in League of Legends and World of Warcraft. Staying as close to $1000 as possible with the monitor and OS included is ideal.

Here is the build I have come up with so far:

I am not looking to overclock. I would like to know if all of these components are compatible, and if there are any parts that can be changed with comparable ones for a better price.

Also, what do you think would be the life of this build? Would this give me good performance for at least 2 years into the future?

I am new to building computers so any advice will greatly help me.

looks pretty good, the only problem might be the GPU is to big for the case but im not sure i didnt really look at the case. i would recommend getting a full tower instead of a mid you might need a better PSU you might want to double check that too


another thing, get like a 40gb ssd instead and then a 500gb hdd just put your OS on the SSD. i am assuming you have a hdd because the SSD is only 120gb

if you plan on muiltitasking i would recomend the fx 6100 or 8100 but if your just gaming the if is fine. if you want to shave about 100 bucks off the athlon and phenomII x4 processors are great quad cores but the i5 is still great im just an amd fan so I would get those instead (the i5 will out preform the ones i put but it doesnt really matter cause you save 100 bucks and both are great and can play any game max settings)

so just double check that the card will fit in the case and that the PSU will power it all and your good

oh i forgot to mention this. i would suggest 4x 2gb for memory unless you plan on putting more in soon or something

The only OCZ SSD i recommend is Vertex 4 how about Crucial M4?

Picking between these two you would recommend the Crucial M4? I'm leaning more towards the OCZ here, but that's simply because of price and the ability to have it shipped from NCIX.

both are good between these i would pick Crucial M4 my reasoning is has a high record of being one of the most reliable

Don't go cheap on a case or power supply. That supply is like the bare minimum.

I have the Cooler Master 690 II Advanced USB 3.0 and OCZ ZT 650W power supply.

The case will work fine, but I would suggest also looking into the HAF 912. A little bit cheaper and great cable management and room. Similar aesthetic to the 300r too.

You could also save some money on the motherboard. If you have no plans to overclock or add a second video card, I would shave off some money on that mobo.

I think I'm going to go with your suggestions on both the case and the motherboard for this build.

I don't know much about overclocking so I'm probably going to put off any tests with that until my next computer build after I've had some time to read up on it.

Thanks to everyone else as well because it's definitely helped me weigh the options and save some money on parts while not taking pieces that are going to die on me or be unreliable.

Way to go you just suggested the poor guy to make poor choices ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard has an onboard USB 3.0 header, but the Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case does not have front panel USB 3.0 ports.If he goes for the cheaper motherboard it will work but i don't know why you suggested him to change these things as his org.build was overall a bit better if he is saving quite a bit of money by going this route then i will shut up lol
