Just want to make sure this build looks good. Probably will save a few dollars going with the combo deal on the processor and the motherboard at microcenter. Uses will be composed primarily of gaming (FPS, MMOs) as well as some music production. Price range is not set, just want to make sure I make a good investment in my components. I've already purchased a keyboard, mouse and will be using a 1080p monitor.

Just a few questions:
1. The GPU I want is the sapphire 7970 Vapor X for $440 (I plan on upgrading the monitor in the future). Is this the best single GPU I could get excluding the 690 and 7990 cards? Like I said, price is not a real issue but I wouldn't be able to let myself spend 600+ on a card.

2. I'm still deciding on the case. I like a simple design. Leds and a window are preferred but not crucial. I'd rather have good airflow, cable management as well as have a sturdy case. Any recommendations under $150? The lower the better.

i was under the impression the msi lightning and the asus matrix were the top 7970's. not including the ridiculous sapphire 6GB cards.

Better hdd as main is recommended, either ssd or 10,000 rpm to improve performance.
Simple case would be cooler master haf xm, it's full twer design is better. ur vid card is huge.
I think ax750 corsair psu has better warranty. Same price, same item different name

i would most likely go with the samsung ones because they can overclock like a beast(if you are not into that kind of stuff just go for the first one and save some)

PS:going over 1.5V or over 1600 speed will void intel's warranty

went a bit over but i really wanted to add inside an SSD at the price of your build. It will help a lot in the responsiveness to your system.

if you plan on CFX the 7970GHz and overclocking them, you will want to look at 850W PSU instead of the 750Ws. the XFX 850W i put inside is made by seasonic so you can expect it to be high quality.
