Your GPU and CPU are the same link.

That is OK. If you absolutely want nVidia, go with that setup.

I would go P45, 4870 right now (better bang for the buck), but it's up to you. I don't have any complaints about my 780i, but I think you'd get a better value with the other mobo/GPU.

That case will not cool that well. Look for a better cooling case.

k I fixed the GPU link and I updated the power supply. Any suggestions for a better case around the same price?

I will look into the 4870...its for a friend so I will let him decide which he likes better.

Are you planning to overclock?

You don't need 1200 Mhz RAM unless you intend to really push the CPU as far as it will go... and if you were to do that you would need at least the P5Q -E.

The E8400 runs on a 333Mhz FSB. This means you only need 667Mhz RAM, but 800Mhz is cheap so just get really good 800Mhz:

Or get some good 1066 if you are going to push the FSB past 400:

We really haven't decided how much we want to do...its really up to him. He told me to make a build with some flexibility....I have a feeling he might end up not doing a large OC. I will make sure to ask him and if he doesn't think he will I will tell him to go with the 800 otherwise to go for the 1066.
