It's a good build, but as it's for gaming you should put more money towards the graphics card and less into other components that won't affect your gaming experience. For example, you could get a motherboard for 50-60 dollars less and not notice a performance difference.
Also, are you planning on overclocking or not?

Its good but I would put less money toward the motherboard and ram and more toward the gpu.

Keep in mind I used a z87 motherboard because it is cheaper than the z97 and is still a fantastic motherboard. I'm telling you this because you have to update the bios which is really easy on the asus website.
