~$1000 gaming PC (no OC)

Hello,

I would like to build my first PC, but I'm totally clueless... I have no criterion for choosing between different brands nor do I feel confidence when choosing a compatible motherboard. Therefore, I will really appreciate your help .

Approximate Purchase Date: ASAP (1-2 weeks).

Budget Range: 1000-1200€ After Rebates (including monitor).

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, maybe some 3D rendering for game development, surfing the internet, watching movies, etc.

Parts Not Required: speakers, OS.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: amazon.es (with Premium Trial), amazon.co.uk (with Super Saver Delivery), PCComponentes, Redcoon, PC BOX, APP, Alternate.

Country: Spain

Parts Preferences: After reading some articles ("best for the money") and posts in this website, I guess I should buy a Core i5-3450 + Radeon HD 7850. However, I am open to new and better options.

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe in the future, as a way to upgrade my PC by reusing my GPU (worth it?).

Monitor Resolution: I guess 1080p would be enough...

Additional Comments: I don't really care about noise. An inexpensive stylish case (even with some ligths) would be nice, but not necessary. SSD could be interesting. Above all, I would like to play Diablo III, Skyrim and some upcoming games at their maximum graphical aspect. I also greatly appreciate recommendations on the mouse and monitor. Finally, I wonder if the CPUs or GPUs will experience a price drop in the coming days so I'd better wait a bit...

7850 from MSI, asus, or xfx. they are all good
xfx 550w
antec one or antec 302. whichever one is cheaper. they are about the same

I'm very grateful to you for your advice . Over all to Why_Me for looking up prices in PCComponentes. Now you have a new friend if Madrid in you happen to visit Spain eventually (and I have not escaped from the crisis to another country yet ).

I've taken Why_My's model as reference and I've changed a pair of things:
- I don't need the OS, so we have 88'95€ to spare
- As TheBigTroll pointed out, perhaps i5-3550 instead of i5-3450 for only 16€ in addition is worthwhile... is it?
- Considering that I could buy another GPU for "Crossfiring", wouldn't it be less limited a 700/800W PSU? Or 600W is enough?
- Reading about CPUs, some people agree that is recommended to buy a good heatsink because factory ones tend to break easily. I've chosen Noctua NH-U12P SE2.

A Radeon 7850 gets by with a 600W PSU. It consumes VERY little power, and 600W is fine since you're not OCing the GPU.

No need for more fans; the 302 has enough to cool your system. The Sapphire Radeon 7850 is the same because of competition I am guessing.

Like azeem pointed out that 600w is more than enough power. Go back to the 600w psu, and no need for that Noctua since you aren't over clocking. For a nice quiet cpu h/s look at this one down below.

Drop back to the 3450. The 3550 isn't really going to gain you anything other than it cost more Euro's. With the money you saved look at this gpu.

Idk about the 7870. The 7850 OCs to its level, and for $30 more, you can get a GTX 670.

7870 is like within 5 percent of a 7950 or gtx580.but the 670 will be better. then again, in Europe, nividia cards cost a bit more

yes you will notice the difference between 5-14ms response times. often, ips panels dont have good response times so they arent the best for games. the asus vs228h is a great choice
