Hello, :hello:

I would like to build my first PC, but I'm totally clueless... :??: I have no criterion for choosing between different brands nor do I feel confidence when choosing a compatible motherboard. Therefore, I will really appreciate your help :) .

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Approximate Purchase Date: ASAP (1-2 weeks).

Budget Range: 1000-1200€ After Rebates (including monitor).

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, maybe some 3D rendering for game development, surfing the internet, watching movies, etc.

Parts Not Required: speakers, OS.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: amazon.es (with Premium Trial), amazon.co.uk (with Super Saver Delivery), PCComponentes, Redcoon, PC BOX, APP, Alternate.

Country: Spain

Parts Preferences: After reading some articles ("best for the money") and posts in this website, I guess I should buy a Core i5-3450 + Radeon HD 7850. However, I am open to new and better options.

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe in the future, as a way to upgrade my PC by reusing my GPU (worth it?).

Monitor Resolution: I guess 1080p would be enough...

Additional Comments: I don't really care about noise. An inexpensive stylish case (even with some ligths) would be nice, but not necessary. SSD could be interesting. Above all, I would like to play Diablo III, Skyrim and some upcoming games at their maximum graphical aspect. I also greatly appreciate recommendations on the mouse and monitor. Finally, I wonder if the CPUs or GPUs will experience a price drop in the coming days so I'd better wait a bit...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I trust you ;)
Thanks in advance.

dont know the prices in Spain but ill give you some parts to look up

I'm very grateful to you for your advice :). Over all to Why_Me for looking up prices in PCComponentes. Now you have a new friend if Madrid in you happen to visit Spain eventually (and I have not escaped from the crisis to another country yet :p).

I've taken Why_My's model as reference and I've changed a pair of things:
- I don't need the OS, so we have 88'95€ to spare :)
- As TheBigTroll pointed out, perhaps i5-3550 instead of i5-3450 for only 16€ in addition is worthwhile... is it?
- Considering that I could buy another GPU for "Crossfiring", wouldn't it be less limited a 700/800W PSU? Or 600W is enough?
- Reading about CPUs, some people agree that is recommended to buy a good heatsink because factory ones tend to break easily. I've chosen Noctua NH-U12P SE2.

Antec Three Hundred Two 59 €

Corsair GS800 800W Gaming Series 93€

ASRock H77 Pro4/MVP 84 €

Intel Core i5-3550 3.3Ghz Box Socket 1155 189 €

Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 8GB 2x4GB CL9 39.95 €

Sony AD-5280S-0B Grabadora DVD 24X Negra OEM 16.50 €

Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 OC Edition 2GB GDDR5 + Dirt Showdown 219 €

Western Digital WD1002FAEX Caviar Black 1 TB 7200 RPM Internal Hard Disk Drive 105€

Asus VS228H LED 21.5" HDMI/DVI 135 €

Noctua NH-U12P SE2 58€

TOTAL: 998.45€

What do you think? Do you agree with these changes?
I'm also looking for a good inexpensive gaming keyboard & mouse, but I'm finding lots of them and it's hard for me to distinguish the pros & cons. If you had one in mind, would you please be so kind to share it with me?

Finally, I have a question; it would be great if know the answer:
- Why the Radeon OC Edition costs the same as the standart? What's the bad news? Will it generate much heat? Should I buy some extra fans?

Thank you so much!!!
You have saved my life!! ^__^"

A Radeon 7850 gets by with a 600W PSU. It consumes VERY little power, and 600W is fine since you're not OCing the GPU. :)

No need for more fans; the 302 has enough to cool your system. The Sapphire Radeon 7850 is the same because of competition I am guessing. :p

Like azeem pointed out that 600w is more than enough power. Go back to the 600w psu, and no need for that Noctua since you aren't over clocking. For a nice quiet cpu h/s look at this one down below.

Cooler Master Hyper TX3 EVO CPU Cooler

Drop back to the 3450. The 3550 isn't really going to gain you anything other than it cost more Euro's. With the money you saved look at this gpu.

Logitech Optical Gaming Mouse G400

http://www.pccomponentes.com/logitech_gaming_keyboard_g105.html 41 95 €
Logitech Gaming Keyboard G105

I've been studying your last GPU suggestions, but I think those cards go up in price too much for what I want... The Radeon 7850 should be enough for my purposes :)
Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB GDDR5 295 €
Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 339 €
MSI GeForce GTX 670 2GB GDRR5 386 €

Finally, here's my shopping list for tomorrow afternoon. Some prices have risen these days (in red). This is my last opportunity to change whatever you may find strange or that could be improved; I would read it just before buying.

Intel Core i5-3450 3.1Ghz Box Socket 1155 172 €

Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 OC Edition 2GB GDDR5 + Dirt Showdown 225 € (+6€)

ASRock H77 Pro4/MVP 86 € (+2€)

Cooler Master Hyper TX3 EVO CPU Cooler 18.75 €

Antec Three Hundred Two 68 € (+9 €)

Corsair CX600 V2 600W Builder Series 66€ (+12€)

Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 8GB 2x4GB CL9 39.95 €

WD Caviar Black 1TB SATA3 64MB 105€

Sony AD-5280S-0B Grabadora DVD 24X Negra OEM 16.50 €

Asus VS228H LED 21.5" HDMI/DVI 135 €

Logitech Optical Gaming Mouse G400 29.95 €

Logitech Gaming Keyboard G105 Call of Duty Edition 35.95 €

TVisto Surge Guard Protection 6 Conectores con Cubierta 7.95€

TOTAL: 1006,05€

By the way, what do you consider/value when choosing a good monitor? LED, response delay, IPS? I was hesitant to buy this other monitor on special offer: Asus VS239H LED IPS 23" 145€
After reading some articles, I guess 21'5"/5ms wins 23"/14ms (inches/delay), or I should buy 23" one? Will I tell the difference between 5ms & 14ms?

Thank you all for the tips! ;)

Best regards! :)
