[SOLVED] 1000 GB Internet only goes to 4mpbs in Speed Test

Hi, so I downloaded this VPN and ever since I got it my internet has been slow. I have 1000mbps internet with a wired connection and before I would get connected to a local server for a speed test and I would get around 950mbps. But now I get 4mbps. I checked on my phone and I get 950 mbps. I tried shutting down the VPN in task manager but nothing changes and tried turing it off. I'm using ProtonVPN btw.

shutting down the vpn in task manager? why not exit/quit out from the settings?
ProtonVPN don't have an off settings?

I uninstalled it but I still get slow 2mbps speed and restarted my pc.

I unistalled it but it didn't work, when i go on Oookla to speed test it says its connecting to New York servers while I live very far away and I use to connect to a different server. On whatsmyip.com it says it cant identify my ipv6 or my ISP.

Looks like the vpn software has hooked into windows. You'll need to remove the network adapter if it's there. If not, a windows reinstall may be the easier route.
