I have a 3.0 ghz (800FSB) on the Intel D875PBZLK i875P P4 (800FSB) with some corsair ddr 3200 dual channel.
I want to overclock this stuff but with out liquid cooling. How do I do this.
Maybe later. O, did I say I also ordered the 9800 pro with 256 mb ddr II. Most expensive video card I have ever purchased.

This review talks about the overclocking features on Intel D875PBZ:

The D875PBZ is really not geared for overclocking at all. There is a small section in the bios, under Burn-In Mode in the advanced section. These features are limited to -2% to +4% of the fsb speed and a few AGP/PCI speed settings. Due to this massive limitation, I didn't even bother to see if this board could overclock. At maximum setting, the chip would be running at 3.1Ghz, hardly what I would class as a stellar overclock. It seems that Intel only included these option for system integrator related hardware testing, which would make sense as that is the target audience for this board.

I agree with that solution ... because it is a logical one.

To be honest: Intel boards are a pain in the ass overclocking... they support almost no OC settings.

It is better to get a motherboard from a different motherboard maker with an Intel chipset if you want to OC.

Um... if you know how to do it an intel mobo can be overclocked..... i have sucsessfully run a 2Ghz celeron up to a stagering 2.8Ghz before it became unstable and the processor became to hot. I cam currently running it at 2.66Ghz on an INTEL D845GEBV2L. This is with a stock intel heatsink.

Yup it was software overclocking but it is still overclocking all the same. Also an nother good thing about overclocking an intel mobo is that tweaking onew thing will automaticly change every thing else. With the increase in FSB the speed of the RAM has increased from 133Mhz or DDR266 to 177Mhz or 355Mhz DDR. Despite all of this my system is rock solid stable.

Intel Celeron 2.0Ghz @ 2.66Ghz
Intel D845GEBV2L
768MB or DDR266 @ 355Mhz
Geforce 4 MX 440SE

That is probably because the clockgenerator controls both FSB as memory.

So we could say this: Intel boards don't support overclocking (not inside the BIOS, not with jumpers), but almost every motherboard is OC'able with clock generator software.
