I use my pc for gaming. running a gtx 1080. current monitor is an acer 31'' with gsync and 144hz but i already changed it 3 times due to pixels and faulty ambient lights.

Question is , Shall I go for the asus pg348q or a 2k 144/165hz monitor ?

I really like big monitors. Preferably more than 30''.

I mostly play fps games , but play singleplayers occasionally as well.

Thanks

Yes.... its in last post ... :)

My fav current monitor is the Acer XB271HU bmprz 27", IPS, 165 Hz, 3 ms total lag

review of the older 144 Hz model here:

Note that starting about 3 weeks before Xmas, the price of the Acer XB271HU bmprz shot up to about $799... before that it was running $700, same thing with the Asus PG279Q ... if ya wait a few weeks, proces should drop to normal levels as supply finally catches up with demand. The older Acer which my son purchased two years ago for $700, is now $775

It's important to match ppi and monitor size. A 1440p is just fine at 27" but at 1080p it's very grainy as you can see individual pixels at 1080p / 27. The human eye can typically see individual pixels at about 96 ppi and Windows was designed on 96 dpi.

A 1440p monitor at 27" has a ppi of 108.7
A 1440p monitor at 30" has a ppi of 97.91

In short, the higher the PPI, the sharper the display appears.

My fav current monitor is the Acer XB271HU bmprz 27", IPS, 165 Hz, 3 ms total lag. Here's the review for the older 144 hz version ... on tftcentral you can see the **real** lag and response times as opposed to the "fake" advertised values.

Any suggestion to what I should get ?
