So I am about to get a new 100mbit connection and the default router they are giving me is aged and wouldn't be able to fully utilise my devices.

I am fairly new to networking in general and I am wondering if the Tp-Link Archer C8 with AC1750 is good enough to utilise the full speed or if I should spend extra cash on the Archer C9 with AC1950?

Basically what I want is to be able to get the full 100mbit on my wireless devices such as my mobile phone or laptop. If there is no issues I would go for the C8 because money is sorta tight.

Thanks in advance.

you should on the c7/c8 units be fine. there 450 megs on the 2.4g side. you need a 5g usb stick or card to go faster to bond both 2.4g radio and the 5g radio to get 1750 speed. 5g range is a lot shorter then 2.4g. with any router the more wifi devices share the slower the speed is for all the units. plus wit hwifi there is some overhead. if you can try and hard wire the desktop that wont move.
