So I've been running my pc now for a while and I noticed my fan speed is always on high so I went to lower it medium setting worked good then I tried low and it shut my whole pc off I set it back to high and I was able to boot my pc back up just wondering what could have caused that to happen

Solution
750W PSU is way too much for your system. Your system will do fine with 400W PSU. But just in case you're upgrading your GPU in one day, a good quality 500W range PSU is more than you'll need.

Here i suggest Seasonic G-550. It's Tier two, 80+ Gold, semi-modular, 5 years of warranty (more in specs page).
specs: https://seasonic.com/product/g-550/

All my 3 PCs: Skylake, Haswell and AMD are also powered by Seasonic. (Got PRIME series in Skylake, M12II EVO series in Haswell and S12II series in AMD. Full specs in my sig.)

Thermaltake Smart M series is low quality (Tier four) PSU.

Tier Four
Built down to a low price. Not exactly the most stable units ever created. Very basic safety circuitry or even thin gauge wiring used. Not for gaming rigs or overclocking systems of any kind. Avoid unless your budget dictates your choice.
PSU Tier list: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

Reason for shutdowns is because your low quality PSU can't handle the low current needed for fan controller on low settings. You'll need a PSU that regulates it's power output much better without kicking in the protections.

For a new PSU, aim for a good quality Tier two PSU, preferably great quality Tier one if you could afford it.

Anything from Seasonic will do.

Care to list your system specs so i can suggest proper wattage range PSU for your system?

And what's your GPU? Since FX-8350 isn't APU and system needs dedicated GPU to work.

Any more info on your EVGA PSU? Since EVGA PSUs range from Tier one to Tier four, depending on the PSU series. E.g Supernova GS series, Supernova B2 series, BQ series, NEXB series etc.
