1024 Gb/s Memory Bandwidth Gpu in pcie 2.0

So amd's best gpu so far, the Radeon Pro Duo has a booming 1024 Gb/s Memory Bandwidth ! , Good news for pcie 3.0 user,but bad news for pcie 2.0 users (like me). So before I buy ,I want to know will there be major performance drops.

P.S : Most of you may be wondering why not buy a new mobo ,the thing is I can't buy the mobo with the GPU,I have to chose one mobo or gpu.(I chose gpu )

The memory bandwidth is between the GPU chip and the memory on the graphics card itself. That data doesn't go across the PCIe slot.

The bandwidth from the graphics card to the CPU and system memory is much lower, but that's less important as most of the shuffling of data can be done internally on the graphics card.
well if you chose gpu, go for a lower end one! radeon pro duo is too much an overkill and you would be fine with a gtx 1080, i assure you! also, later this year you will have AMD vega architechture with HBM2 memory that will go way past 1024 gb/s. buying radeon pro duo will make you regret it once you see vega. if you are too impatient go for a gtx 1080 for slightly more than half of the price and, talking about gaming, you won't have changes, and also for content creation you will be satisfied. for the pcie question i'm not actually sure, but you shouldn't notice a significant performance impact. hope i helped :)
