1050p monitor questions

I have a couple questions. Someone wants to trade me my laptop for a 1050p 22 inch monitor. While this sounds like a good deal since its a Vista laptop, how is it for gaming? Is the image distorted because of the 16:10? As long as I run my true res in my settings shouldn't I be fine? Anyone with experience with 1050 know if it's worth it for now?

really not a good deal, i know a guy locally who sells 1050p 22" dell monitors for 50 bucks canadian

there is no image distortion or anything like that for gaming. the game will display at 1050p just fine

the only problem with 16:10 is you will have black bars when watching 16:9 (hdtv) videos. not a deal breaker.
