I got a Palit 1050ti and whenever I update it then let it restart my pc, nvidia geforce says that my installer is ready, like it did not install the drivers at all. Leaving me with 1024x784 resolution

Things I have tried:
DDU
Updating using manual installer
Moving the GPU to another PCI slot
Checking for Windows updates

I can't use the disc that came with it because I dont have a CD drive.
I use an active DVI to VGA converter for my main display and I tried to use another monitor with DVI and I was able to get FHD resolution. Then I unplugged the DVI cable from the other monitor then plugged back in to my main display using the active converter and the main monitor was able to get FHD, but after another install then restart, same problem happened.
NVIDIA Control Panel doesnt work too, it crashes whenever I try to open it.

Windows 7 Ult 64bit
MSI Z87-G41 PC MATE
i5-4670k
120gb Samsung SSD + 1tb WD Caviar Blue HDD
2x8gb Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz
650w Corsair PSU

Update: Tried using 388.13, still nothing

Solution
Always download and install your Nvidia graphics directly from directly from Geforce.com (don't use Windows to update it).

You can use something like GPU-Z or your overclock software to check the driver version. It will also be in the Device Manager under display adapter.
