I am working on a new build for an F1 racing simulator. My simulator will include a PC linked to 3 1080p 60Hz monitors and will be primarily running Formula 1 2018 (or newer versions when they are released). I currently have an old Zotac 1050Ti 4GB OC that I was going to sell but I was wondering if that card will be powerful enough to run the display on decent graphics settings at 60FPS. The F1 game developers suggest a minimum of a GT 640 and recommends a GTX 1060 3GB. I am debating whether to buy a 1070 to run the system or keep the 1050Ti. If possible I would like to use the 1050Ti and use the extra cash to work on my main build. Would the 1050Ti be strong enough to power the 3 monitor display or should I just get the 1070? This PC will really only be used for this and its not really important for it to be unnecessarily powerful (thats what main build is for 😊). Thanks for your help.

*Note: the SSD and Power supply from the F1 PC will be switched with those of my main PC.

Ok that’s what I thought. Will the 1070 be good enough or should I go for something even higher like a 1070Ti or 1080/2070?

Honestly for longetivity, buy the best card you can afford thats not overpriced. The 2070 is a good deal price/performance right now IMO. There are a lot you can get in the under $500 range.

I made some changes to your build:

The Cryorig cooler is better and quieter than the Coolermaster. 8gb of ram is too little for this system. Going forward you'll want 16, and a faster clock speed especially fi you ever want to record your sessions. And that PSU you picked is way more power than you need and has quality issues. The Seasonic is much higher quality.

Thank you. I agree the 2070 is the best in terms of "futureproofness" and price which is why I have one in my main build but I think it's a bit overkill in this. Ill definitely beef up my RAM a bit and change the CPU cooler. I had the 750W power supply on that list because I was going to switch it with the 500W from my main build but you said that 750W had quality issues. Can you please recommend a different 700W+ power supply for my main build? Thanks again.

Since you already have the GTX1050ti why not try it and see how you do?
If the results are not good, you will have a much better idea as to just how strong of a card you need.
I could, but I'd rather pick and choose all my parts at around the same time. Also since the resale price of the 1050Ti keeps going down, I'd rather sell it as soon as possible.

May I ask why you believe you need 700w + for your main build? I see nothing in there that needs that kind of power. The Seasonic Focus 550 I suggested would be more than enough for your main build.

The 750w version is a great choice if you need that power for some reason

Thanks. I was looking at a higher wattage power supply for that build because eventually I would like to have 2 high powered graphics cards in SLI (not 2070 since 2070 does not support SLI) and upgrade my CPU to i7 or even i9. I figured while I have the opportunity to upgrade my power supply I might as well do so now rather than wait.

I updated the F1 Build based on your recommendations: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/wama_2/saved/#view=QwbNQ7

Ok good point. Honestly though SLI sucks, its why support is dwindling . Its great for monster benchmarks, but a lot of games don't support it, and even when it does there are always micro-stutter issues and other things like that. Better off selling whatever you have and buying the fastest thing you can afford.
