Hi Guys - I've been trying to help out a friend. He's got a 21:9 Ultrawide LG monitor. He wants to play GTA 5, BF1 and etc (games like that).

Will the 1060 6GB Card be enough for 60+ FPS on a 21:9 monitor? Or should he go with the 1060 3GB SSC.

Budget is up to $270

The 6GB card is the easy choice, increased resolution is one of the only justifications for VRAM.

The GTX 1060 6GB will run GTA V satisfactorily. You will probably have to reduce a few settings to get it steadily at 60FPS. Most new, AAA games should run well with a few settings turned down.

The GTX 1060 isn't going to be maxing out any new releases, but should provide an enjoyable experience.

it depends on his resolution. is it 2560x1080 or 3440x1440? he should go with the fastest card he can afford. of the two you listed, the 6GB is the faster card. i have an LG 2560x1080 and BF1 runs 60+ at ultra with a 4770k and gtx 970. GTA V its super smooth but never cared to measure the FPS because it seems about 60fps to me. the 1060 6gb is somewhere in between a gtx 970 and 980.
