1060 3GB Ryzen 5 1400 vs 1050 TI 4GB Ryzen 1500x

Which would be better for gaming, and which would be better for streaming? And how much better is it?

There is no clear winner here. In cpu intensive games, the 1500x will be give you better frame rates and in gpu intensive games, the 1060 will give you better framerates. But if you want to stream as well, the stronger of the two cpu which is 1500x would be better.

Moreover, the higher clocks of 1500x would be more beneficial for gaming. It will not only last you longer but would also be more efficient in multitasking along with gaming. And the way games are becoming more and more cpu dependent, given a choice, i would take the 1500x over 1400 anyday.

The problem is im buying this computer for my friend and I either have to chose the 1060 with the 1400 or the 1050ti with the 1500x. My only problem is the 1050ti far worse then the 1060. So I was wondering do you think its better to have a slightly better cpu and a slightly worse gpu, or a slightly better gpu and a slightly worse cpu?

Thats a difficult choice. I have given you all the facts and scenarios. Its not like the 1050ti will be unplayable, but with the 1500x the pc life would be longer. But thats my personal opinion. Either option is fine as there is an upgrade path for both cpu and gpu. And its a balance you have to make, because games nowadays rely on both cpu/gpu equally.

I would go with the 1500x and 1050ti. Save some money and sell the 1050ti and buy either an rx 580 or GTX 1060 6gb. You will be much happier in the long run.

My 2 options now are either a Ryzen 7 1700 - 1050ti or Ryzen 5 1500x - 1060 3GB which would be the better one for streaming and gaming?

Honestly, you dont need a 1700 for gaming and streaming. A 1600 is more than enough to handle that. See if you can squeeze in the 1600 along with the 1060.
