Hello everyone!

I have a founders edition 1060, and not only does it get up to about 83 degrees when gaming, it gets terrible scores in every benchmark.

Here is the link to just one of my many firestrike scores, nothing ever changes. Driver update after driver update.

Firestrike 1060 6GB Score

I can't even find anyone else with scores this low, everyone has at least 13k graphic scores on their 1060 6gb tests.

Please help! I don't know what is wrong with my card, every test says that it is performing normally but benchmarks show that it is not.

Userbenchmark even showed my card performing way below average, with a 67% (71% normal I believe)

Thank you to anyone who can help!

83 degrees is too hot. It seems to be throttling. Maybe your case doesn't provide enough cooling/airflow, and you should try to adjust the fans of your 1060. Either raise their frequency, or lower the target temperature so that they work harder, in something like the MSI Afterburner.

How can I share what MSI Afterburner records while benchmarking?

The fans can get up to 100% and it stays around 80 celcius. It never goes above 83C and it isn't throttling. It gets up to its max turbo speed and stays there. People tell me that the 10xx series cards can get up to 90C and be fine. Is there anything I can do to help you guys help me?

I am looking at the graphics score. A 1060 6GB should have a graphics score of around 13,100 at least.

Just did another test with the fans at 100% the whole time. No throttling whatsoever, stayed around 60C and these are the results: Still just as bad :/

I monitored it with HWMonitor and MSI. There was no throttling. The clock speed was constantly at 1900 MHz for the graphics and the memory was at 4007MHz. I even turned the fans up all the way and it stayed nice and cool. I don't understand what could be going on :/

HWMonitor does for sure and it is 1900MHz for practically the whole test...

I just ran Firestrike for the first time and I noticed something, make sure VSYNC is off in the global control panel settings during your test, because when I turned it off my 1060's score increase by 1000 points...

Gsync also affects score too

It is 🙁

Have you checked relative GPU and CPU utilisation? In a benchmark, the GPU should be somewhere around 99% and the CPU still below 90%. Your i7 is obviously good enough, but it could speak of a specific problem or the CPU itself throttling.

Also check Unigine Heaven or Valley benchmarks etc.

I have tried running that one as well, multiple times. My score was about 200 below normal 1060 6gbs.

Yes, I watched for that. My CPU gets to about 30-60% usage and stays around 50-65C. I have tried Valley and it tells me the same thing, that my GPU is below average. Userbenchmark also tells me that I am in the 15-20 percentile at 67-68% compared to 71-72% being normal.
