1060 no display signal

Hi, I just bought a msi gtx 1060 6G OC and it won't pick up the monitor upon start up, I have everything updated and have uninstalled and reinstalled the gpu. My os is the windows 10 with the latest build and my mb is Asus m5a97. I have a 750w psu and a amd fx 8350 processor. I previously had an amd gpu previously and uninstalled all of the drivers before putting the new gpu in. After a cmos reset the gpu picks up the monitor and works perfectly but will not pick up the monitor without doing a cmos reset or memok check. Does anyone have a solution to this?

is the bios up to date only update it if system is stable

I have literally updated everything , the bios build is 2603 which is the latest

have you tried using display-port does your monitor have one

I have used both the dvi port and hdmi port, both of them work if I start up after a cos reset but none of them work without the reset
