1060 Price drop rx vega

I was wondering if the price of the 1060 6Gb cards will drop after the release of vega? If so. by how much would you expect?

I doubt the 1060 will drop very much, the RX vega lineup is competing with the 1070, 1080, and 1080 ti from my understanding so if there is a price drop in response to vega I would imagine it would be on the 1070, 1080, and 1080 ti. AMD already has a card that competes with the 1060, the RX 580.

Hard to say, the market is still a little screwed up because of the latest bit coin mining craze. The vega card competing with the 1070 is rumored to start at $400. A founders 1070 direct from nvidia is also $400, though they are out of stock at the moment, most board partner 1070s are around $450-$500. So I would guess that even with vega those prices are likely to remain about where they are now until the value of bit coin drops and miners stop buying up all the gpu's, when they do and availability of 1070s goes back up you will likely be able to find a 1070 for under $400.

Yeah basically it all revolves around cryptocurrency valuation and if governments will start cracking down on it as a valid currency. The Bitcoin craze started in 2009 and peaked in exponential growth in 2013. Currently Ethereum is the new gold but it apparently has already hit its peak.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and ZCash have one thing in common: they've all hit their peak. It's investment 101: get in early, get out at the right time. The way I see it, people still snapping up GPUs for mining are like the post-gold rush California miners of the 1880s looking for gold that's already been mined.

If you buy six GPUs and have a box running in your home hashing 7x24 thinking you are going to strike it rich, you have no idea what you are up against. There are warehouses in China that have hundreds of computers tied together hashing. This pretty much sums it up:
