Something that confused me alot when i was shopping for a graphics card, was that the msi gtx 1070 gaming z had a boost clock speed of (1860 mhz ) while the msi gtx 1080 gaming x only had ( 1847 ) on boost, so would that make the 1070 better than the 1080, or are there other factors, and because of this im extremely confused about buying a gpu. pls help thx

Base clock speeds don't really matter much in my opinion. The majority of 1080s will overclock far past the speeds the gpu vendors set by simply moving a slider.
Well think about it like this, they have single core Pentium 4 cpu's from 2001 that can reach 5ghz and beyond. However if you compared that to a 3.0ghz modern i7 it would make it look stupid, clock speed does not even tell half of the story. The 1080 has more shader units, faster memory, more cuda cores, as well as many other things.

so if i get a 1080 should i get the one with highest clock speeds or will it not make a difference and get one that is good and matches my setup
