This is just probably a personal preference but I am getting the MSI Enthuastic Gaming Intel Z170A LGA 1151 DDR4 USB 3.1 ATX Motherboard (Z170A XPower Gaming Titanium Edition) and if I do sli, (1070 graphic card) will it look better with 2 of the same cards or should I get one of 2 different brands? Lastly, what are the best cards to match the motherboard and which cards are preferred?

Solution
If you are building new, go straight to Z270.

1070 SLI is only worth it for maybe 3440x1440@100hz or 2560x1440@144hz, and 4K. If you are going for 2560x1440@60hz then a single 1070 is enough. A 1080 if you want a little longevity.

Rumors abound that there will be a GTX1080Ti soon, so you might hold out for that. Or look to AMD's Vega GPUs.

For SLI an identical pair is always best. Less complications.

MSI board, might as well get MSI cards, they'll have compatible software for lighting controls and the like.

Not that easy to match the Titanium motherboard to MSI's cards. They do have the Armor coolers which are basically black and white, but they are their cheaper cards.

Galax HOF edition's maybe.
when you sli, you should choose the same card you got, if you sli with a slower card then the sli will run at the slower card's speed. and then with what card, i'm a big EVGA fanboy but you choose what brand has the features you want

same cards, not only for looks, but for stability, a extreme OC card paired with a budget card (of the same gpu) will probably result in problems, so go for two of the same cards if you want to use SLI
