1070 or 1080 fe

Hello guys , can you please help me decide which gpu should i buy. Right now, a friend of my friend wanted to sell his 1080 fe for $530 , however, ive heard that 1080 founders edition has a thermal throttling issues. What do you think guys, should i buy this card or go with the asus 1070 instead

I like the GTX 1080. I think that even if thermal throttles, it's still faster than the 1070

1080 for sure.

If noise bothers you, then I would get the custom 1070.

FE doesn't have thermal throttling issues, just that the fan can get noisy at high speeds.

as long as the 1080 is in good shape and works properly, you should buy the 1080

Don't see where. That's just dynamic clocks taking into effect.

People are overclocking their 1080 founder editions to 2.1Ghz without issue.

The only issue here for me is "can you survive the fan noise?"
