1070 or 1080 Ti (used or new?)?

I am currently planning on building a PC. I have decided to go with a Ryzen 5 2600x, as it will be for both productivity and gaming, but I am not sure what gpu to go with, I was planning on getting a 1070 (£392), but I have found some 1080 Ti's on ebay for prices as low as £310. Is ebay a safe place to buy and are used GPUs viable?

Ebay + Paypal are safe (normally).

Used GPU is risky because they may be used for crypto mining. Usually they are running at 100% for months or years. If it is possible, ask the seller if it have been heavylly used.

But even if you ask about the card's condition, some people can, and will LIE... because some folks are just plain wicked.
Whether to take their word for it or not is ultimately up to you.

Personally id say get new GPU if you can because THEY WILL LIE 100% for a sale.
But yea everything else is pretty safe with pay-pal just check your bought components work as they are intended.
