As the other posters have mentioned. Go with the 1070 , unless the 980Ti is quite a bit less. Besides slightly better performance and lower power usage (less power usage equals less radiant heat), the 1070 also has two more Gb of vram. By no means a deal breaker (6gb vs 8gb), but games have proven to need more and more memory as time has gone by ...
One more thought to ponder. I just recently sold my MSI GTX1070 for more then I paid for it. Seems that there are some models that are becoming somewhat scarce. Perhaps Nvidia has ceased production, or maybe MSI is just not producing that model anymore. But that makes me think maybe Nvidia is already gearing up for a new model soon. At least sooner then expected . Might be worth waiting, unless you can score either the 980Ti , or a 1070 for a
really good price . One more bit of info. I just did one of those Nvidia surveys, and several of the questions were asking how much would I pay for a new card, and what incentives would I like when purchasing a new gpu. While these are just standard marketing questions, these questions might just be related to a new release about to drop ...
