hi!
ive had the zotac 1070 amp edition for a year now in my computer and ive always noticed that it runs a bit slower than it should( 50 frames in almost max gta5 1080p and multiple dips below 60 50 in forsa horizon 3)
it is msi 970 g46 mobo bios vers 2.8 with an 8350 sometimes clocked at 4.3ghz 24gb of hyperx genesis blue ram ( 2 1333 8gig and 2 1600 4gig mix running at 1600 or 1433 when i oc to not overwhelm the slower dimms) and a cx750 psu
a friend of mine has the exact same system as me exept he has the 970 gaming mobo and he sees frame rates of 30+ over mine.
i started to look into it a bit and with the vc power level set to 120% it throttles at 80% at 60c and frequently spikes down to half that sometimes. looking at cpu usage while my gpu is at 80% usage my CPU is usually at 50 60% on all cores so i dont think there is any throttling. ive also had the same problem with my old r9 280 when my friend saw much better performance with the same specs! Ive never really worried about it until now and i don't know if its the card or my mobo or my CPU being old but it worries me that im getting 1060 speeds out of my 1070!
thanks!
ps: the card is the only pcie device i have plugged in and my board is pcie2.0
