Hello everyone,

I want to build a PC that I can play games on 1440p and will not cost me extra for many years. I don't understand much about these things; however, after a long research, I made a list as follows:

  • CPU: i7 10700KF / i5 10600KF / i5 10400F / R5 5600X
  • GPU: Palit RTX 2070 Super / RTX 3070
  • Motherboard: MSI Mag Z490 Tomahawk / B550 Tomahawk
  • SSD: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500GB
  • RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 32 GB (2x16) 3600MHz CL18
  • PSU: High Power Performance 750W 80+ Gold
  • CPU Cooler: Scythe Fuma 2 2x120mm
  • Monitor: MSI Optix MAG272CQR 27" 165Hz 1ms QHD Curved (bought)

I have no intention of overclocking for a long time, maybe I can do streaming occasionally while playing. First of all, I want to hear your comments about the system. I would be glad if you could answer the following questions:

1- Yes, there is a big difference between 10700KF and 10400F; however, there is also a huge between the 2070S and the 3070. Would the 10700KF + 2070S make more sense or would it be 10400F + 3070? If I push the conditions really, I can do it at 10600KF + 3070. If there is another way for RTX 3070 that I can reduce the cost without losing much performance, feel free to state. I also wonder if 10400F meets RTX 3070 satisfactorily.

2- Until now, I intended to buy 10700KF and Z490 (although over budget), but if I buy 5600X and B550, I'll have no economic loss. Besides, AMD R5 5600X with Zen3 architecture is lower than 10700KF in terms of cores and threads, but gives better results in gaming performance. Based on the test videos, the game performance will slightly increase, but in the future, may I need an 8/16 processor more than a 6/12 in terms of streaming or rendering? For example, if I want to stream while playing games, would 10700KF be better than 5600X?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

If you wanna stream, I suggest use NVENC, not CPU encoding. NVENC takes a much smaller performance hit than CPU encoding, and all Nvidia cards have it. I'd say 3070+5600X for future proofing. Or if you're short on cash, 3070 + 10400F.

NVENC is the reason i bought a 2070S over a 5700XT with a close to $100 price difference (India pricing is all over the place). Because I might want to stream in the future, and the 3600 is not perfect for streaming, I'll take less of an FPS hit while using the GPU instead. Plus I Play a lot of CSGO which is a CPU game, and will suffer if I stream off a 3600

I do not know what PSU that is, and I do not get swayed from big brands like Corsair etc. I'd suggest get a good quality PSU like an RM750, I don't know how good that PSU is

I do not know about Palit much, they don't sell in my country. I usually pick Gigabyte for budget cards and Asus ROG for high end

Otherwise the build is fine
