hi, i would like to use liquid metal with my g1 gaming 1080, but I dont know, if the white area around copper heat pipes is safe for liquid metal use

I used liquid metal ( thermal grizly condactonaut ) on my old 980 g1 gaming and got decent improvement, from 73-75°C at 53% fan speed to 66-67°C at 45-46% fan speed while gaming
tried asking gigabyte support, they just told me that disassembling my card might void my warranty, which didnt help me at all.
google didnt find any info for me yet :(

Simply put - don't.
There is no practical justification (next to none improvement) to the huge risk (shorting something) when compared to a decent thermal paste like MX-4.
If you unhappy with noise, use a decent non conductive thermal paste.

P.S.
as a side note, only EVGA officially do not care about disassembly of the cooler when it comes to the warranty. so if you that kind of person, keep it in mind for the next upgrade.
