Question 1080 not drawing enough power

Recently I noticed I had lower frames than usual (about 100+ less) and frame drops/stuttering while playing games and after looking through HWiNFO64 I noticed my GPU was only drawing 75W of power, but was running at 100% utilisation. The temperatures of the GPU also stayed below 60C with fans on low.

PC specs
i5 9600k
Asus Z370-G
32gb 2666MHZ (2x16gb)
500gb SSD + 1tb HDD
ASUS ROG 1080 8GB
550W Gold PSU

Ran a userbenchmark and was basically exactly the same as a few months ago:

My PC was running fine for 6 months before this just happened overnight. Any suggestions would help.

Your 500W power supply is probably toast. That is pretty small for a 1080 and a 9600K. What is the make and model of the power supply ?

SilverStone 550W Strider Gold S 80+ Gold Power Supply

I just ran a GPU stress test through MSI kombustor and the power consumed reached 200W, while playing games it only reaches 80W, which seems to indicate its not a psu problem?

It still could be. I don't know how much stress the MSI test puts on the rest of the system. Maybe start a PRIME95 in parallel with the MSI test.

This:

"I don't know how much stress the MSI test puts on the rest of the system. "

Probably not much.... no one would use a product that causes stress enough to kill the GPU and/or other components.

Barring specific intention to actually test to destruction.
