1080 Ti all games are freezing

I recently bought a 1080 Ti AMP! Extreme Core Edition 11GB. It worked fine for the first month, but I just bought an ASUS PG348Q, and now when I play a game in 3440x1440p the game will inevitably freeze. (Rocket League, BF1. Skyrim SE etc) The only way to get out is to Ctrl+Alt+Del and open the task manager or sign out. Nothing turns off, no need to restart.

I tested my old 980 Ti by benchmarking it in Unigine Superposition, then playing BF1, then the benchmark again. No freezes. Put in my 1080 Ti and didnt freeze in first bench, froze after 10 minutes in BF1, then froze in bench. Ctrl+Alt+Del worked to get me out. then PC acts normal.

I dont know what the issue is and I have run out of ideas. Do I need a new GPU? Ive read it could be a PSU issue not giving the 1080 Ti enough juice.. I have a 2 1/2 yeaer old EVGA G2 Supernova 750W 80+ Gold.

ANY HELP is appreciated. I do not know what else to do.

Alright I will keep monitoring those. I ran furmark for about 15 minutes while I was on my phone and I didn't have the issue. It's definitely seated in properly. I checked that multiple times. I have s brace under it as well to get rid of the sagging. I'll update with more errors or if I notice s pattern. I'll borrow a friend's PSU as soon as I can, also, to test. Thank you for your help. I'll update when I have news. Thanks!

So it's happened yesterday and today again. Dave exact errors. As soon as I start up a game in 3440x1440p. 1080p is still A-OK. So just freezing at high resolutions. Did not freeze, though, when I ran prime95 and furmark at the same time.

Hey,

I have the EXACT same issue as you,

I posted about it here : https://old.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/94l9be/pc_crashes_tried_everything_please_help/

Im wondering if I should RMA my 1080ti. Seeing as how your 980ti works perfectly. Perhaps its our cards?

Have you had any luck since your last post?

Thanks,

I have had no luck. I've done some more testing, bought a new power supply, and it had the same problem. I think it is our cards. The 980 Ti still works and chugs away like it always has. I would try to RMA it if I were you. An Amazon rep is getting me a replacement, except they are out of stock.. so who knows when I'll get another.

But I would RMA if you aren't having any luck. I'm 99% positive it was my 1080 Ti's problem, and not another component; or else my 980 To should be having the same issue, and it isn't. It's super frustrating though. Hopefully you can get a speedy replacement!
