hey guys.

i have a question about my GPU temperatures on max load it's a 1080 ti galax exoc white.
it reaches 83c-86c when playing games on max load the thing is my previous gpu was nowhere near that it would reach 71c max it was a 980gtx.

the gpu is performing just fine im getting 4040 score in heaven 1080p max settings.

i dont mind the temperatures as-long as it doesn't kill my gpu.
what is the safe temperature for my gpu? i searched alot but all i found was contradicting info.
idle temps are 39c-41c memory and gpu clock drop down to 140 and 400 on idle.

Solution
The G12 is indeed a bracket to hold the AiO and the fan. so it's 2 parts solution that will cost you 80-200$ (depending on your AiO choice). There is no much sense going beyond 140mm AiO for GPU.
it is compatible with many asetek coolers https://www.asetek.com/desktop/do-it-yourself/
Arctic sells them relatively cheap and bundle more fans then others.
if you watch the video i linked in my previous post, you'll get the idea of how to install it and how it performs.
idle is not important.
85C is a bit too high. not dangerous or something, but that's the temps where card begins to throttle.
The cooler on the card is kinda basic for 1080Ti.
If there is a decent airflow in the case (can be tested by removing case side panel - if temps don't change significantly, everything is OK with airflow), you can adjust the GPU fan curve using something like MSI afterburner.
IMHO, the card should run below 80C.

thanks for the reply guys.
i will try to remove side panels and see what happens and get back to you.

removing side panels reduced temps by 2c which is not a big difference.
but i tried creating a custom fan curve profile in MSI afterburner allowing fan to reach 70%-72% max now my temps are 79-80c is this too much on the fans? or is this the sweet spot?

the fan is very silent even on 70% i can hardly hear it.

i have considered the nzxt g12 before but im worried il break my gpu i never disassembled a gpu cooler before i have no experience there is it easy? and safe?

nothing is safe. we all eventually die. even the universe will die.
replacing cooler is not complicated if you ever held a screwdriver :)
but if you are not annoyed by the noise, and temps are fine, no reason to do so. At least for now. Most companies (except EVGA AFAIK) will void the warranty for removing the cooler (not entirely legal, but that's completely different discussion).
If the 70% is still quiet, try higher speeds. doesn't really break anything.

im very handy and experienced with hardware i can fix almost anything that gets broken around here but the thing is i never opened a GPU and with the current GPU prices im sure you can understand why im worried about it.

but its true nothing is safe i get your point.
the one you mentioned is only the cover i guess i need a closed loop cooler.
can you recommend a cooler that is compatible with my GPU?
