Hello,
I am wondering which monitor would be better out of the:
BenQ GW2765HT 27 inch 2560x1440p
4ms response
60hz

Or the:
AOC G2460PQU 24 inch 1920x1080p
1ms response
144hz

In my current rig I have Asus Strix 970 sli with an i7 4790k.

Yes I do play the occasional FPS shooter, but not that often so 144hz could be a benefit, I dont know.
What would you guys go for?

You could get an Asus Swift and get the best of both or you could try to get your hands on the Tempest Overlord (Pretty much the same as the Swift) if you can find one in stock somewhere :)

I received my 144 Hz 24" BenQ yesterday and, even though my GPU doesn't push 144 fps in any game, the fluidity of some games is rather surprising. The Crew for instance, the cars feel more alive, the movement and handling it's just, nicer. I have yet to test it out with other games and I can't speak for how well 2560x1440 looks, but I can say that you do notice the 144 Hz in games with a lot of movement.

I may get it if it drops to $500, but I'm pretty sure it is not IPS though, which kinda sucks, but it is a gaming monitor afterall, so I guess the 1 ms response time is needed with the sacrifice of IPS.
