[SOLVED] 1080p 240Hz vs 1440p 144 Hz

I need your advice: Not sure which monitor to go with: 1080p 240Hz, or 1440p 144 Hz. LG 27GL850-B vs Acer XF250Q Cbmiiprx. I currently have a 1440p 60 Hz display, but I miss high refresh. My main game is Overwatch these days. My specs are in my signature.

Test first how many fps you get between 1080p vs 1440p with uncapped frame rate and monitor how many you get.

27" is a good size and in 1440p i don't need antialiasing on which helps elevate frame rates. If you test fps in 1440p, try without aa.

If you play a lot of OW, and your system can handle it (which I can see it can by your signature), I'd recommend a 1080p 240hz monitor because you can have many benefits from the high refresh rate. LinusTechTips did intensive testing of refresh rates (including utilizing a professional OW player for the Washington Justice).

boju and oldcracc I thank you both. I ended up purchasing the LG 27GL850; 1440p @ 144 FPS. It was briefly on sale via Amazon for $449.99, and they're letting me pay for it with five monthly interest free payments.
