Hi guys,

I'm in hunt of buying a 1080p60 monitor for around 150-160 euros. Im in greece and i need a bit of help. if you could suggest me some monitors, ill be very happy! Because this ips-tn panel thing confused me. The only game i play is smite (maybee ill start something else in future), im not fps guy, im more moba, but i think i need accuracy and color reproduction. If you could give me some choices that will be great an i will be greatefull!

Edit :

I found some monitors. If you can suggest me others, its awesome!

Dell LCD LED 23'' E2316H

Asus VP247H

DELL Monitor E2416H

Asus VP247T

LG LCD LED 23'' 23MP67VQ

Asus VN247HA

Anything really, every monitor is atleast 60hz and you can maybe overclock them if your lucky. Just take the cheapest one you can find. Tn gives less response time thats good but colour accuracy is not as good. And IPS has more ms respnse time but much better colour accuracy, my suggestion would be a ips panel less than 8ms response time and you're golden

so the tn panels that asus and dell have are not so good color representations. i like the lg, but in the asus websit4e they speak with a good percentage of color represantation adobe's rgb. Is that fake? Should i consider asus good color representation panel or should i go with lg. asus is about 25 euros cheaper. And low for my budget so i can spend it in a good gpu.

so im building a new rig.
i7 6700
8gb ram
850 evo 250 gb
rmx 650w
and for gpu i heard that 960 ti is announced. im gonna buy gtx 960 4gb or 960 ti when it comes out. the thing is that for 4k gaming i need 400euro in greece just for monitor and at least 600-700 euros for 980ti. so i think that 1080p is good. im 22 years old. ill get a job. no more too much time for gaming. maybe ill buy in a coupple of years a 4k tv and watch some movies. im not into oculus thing. so 1080p 60hx with gtx 960 is my sweet spot. around 350-400 euros together. as many people say: let your money decide what is best. 😛 and in that case im going for 1080p. No problem. i need the cpu horsepower more. So, ill keep an eye on lg. i dont know why asus is stuck in my head... maybe its cheaping out in a monitor. i dont know... i used an asus and i think its ok with colors and my eyes. but an ips you say will make such a difference... maybe ill try it. maybe ill push a bit mu budget. ill see.

maybe ill go for this! http://www.kappoutel.gr/product_info.php?products_id=20907
ill let you know tommorow! i want to see some reviews but its seems good for the price.

for the last time: i shouldnt go for any asus monitor??? 😛

a 5ms ips panel will be good regardless the brand you chose. bezel thickness , variety of inputs and the monitors stand movements will determine the actual price. githin the given budget i think the lg 24MP47HQ-P is the best fit. above that there are better overall monitor you can have.

that is JUST AMAZING. that the explanation i was waiting for. great video. The differences are just... wow. Going for ips definatelly! You all helped but i need to choose the comment that suggested this monitor. But all of you are the best. LG, here i come!

Calibration is different for everyone - just do it by eye when you get it.
It has 6 or 7 presets , sRGB is pretty much the best preset out of the box, itsca good starting point for tweaking a little - as soon as you alter anything it will become a custom user preset.

That Asus has one of the best panels around , shame its only 21.5 inch , the difference of 2 inches between the asus & lg is a lot more than you would believe

so should i go with lg or asus. i think i care more for best screen than by 1.5 inch. Which is the best panel? I was ready to order and the email notification just stopped my order. 😛

Just order! Im glad that i found an offer of 149 euros! Just waiting to get the other parts of my build and ill be back with impressions in about 3 weeks!(capital controls here...)

but i heard ips displays need a bit of calibration

the hardcore photoshop user would probably seek for a better calibration howerver with such good panel i dont think you will be dissapointed in any way, even with default settings.

as there arent any proper review for this monitor and after a bit of digging i concluded that it most probably bares the same panel as LG 24MP77HM-P and Eizo EV2450 monitor . the panel is a 23.8"WS LG.Display AH-IPS (LM238WF2) variant therefore give these calibration settings a go. may be in vain, however you wont lose anything trying!

allegedly will be withdrown in early 2016. lets hope that will actually happen!

Im not a hardcore photoshop user. Although i wish.😛 I study computer engineering but when it comes to a monitor and a panel, i wasn't having any of the knowledge of panels. Now thanks to a 3-4 day research and some help here not only i chose the best suited monitor, but i learned about the technology. Thanks a lot!
