1080p 60Hz gaming...any point in improving on....

Other than the 'cool' factor and the potential for more resolution or Hz as a future upgrade,

Is there any point to upgrading from I5-4690 at 4GHz paired with an EVGA GTX-1060 6GB when gaming only at 1080p and 60Hz?

Nope. That's a solid 60FPS platform setup for 1080p.

concur! (I show the 4690 as having a 3.9 GHz turbo, FYI...or do you have an unlocked 4690K?)

Yes, it is a 4690k and it is overclocked from 3.5 to 4.0 GHz.

Hold onto it for a little while. You'll eventually want to go newer CPU, more cores, etc. But if you are happy with the performance and it's not maxing out the CPU, then start with it. If you went new platform, you would need new motherboard, CPU, and ram also. Ram is high right now as well.

You could always see if you can score an i7 4770k or 4790k on a good deal though, then overclock that and be set for 2-3 years.
