Ok so i am getting a new monitor soon by samsung that is £300. for some reason on amazon the price for the 1440p one is the same as 1080p but i'm getting a 1660ti with an i5 7500 so i'm not sure if i should get the 1440p one. I care about refresh rate more than resolution but i don't want it to look blurry if i set games to 1080 on a 1440 monitor.

Opinions on what i should do?

A 1660TI is a capable enough GPU for 1440p. You're not going to be maxing out in-game settings and hitting 144Hz at 1440p though, so that's probably the main driving factor.

Personally, I run 1440p/144Hz with a 1070 and turn down settings - I'm perfectly happy with that. If you are too, I'd opt for 1440p.

If you want to push 144Hz/FPS on higher in-game settings, then 1080p is the way to go.
