1080p and 2K videos work smoothly in Firefox, but nothing else

Initially I thought it's to do with my graphics and PC config, but then all these videos higher than 720p work well in Firefox, but NOT in Chrome and PotPlayer. Please let me know if there are any settings I can tweak for a better experience.

My configuration:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3GHz
RAM: 4GB DDR2
Graphic: onboard ATI Radeon HD42000
Motherboard: Biostar A785GE

Do you have hardware acceleration enabled in Chrome? it can sometimes help or hurt video
