1080p Gaming build?

Your GPU is not suitable for maxxing out more demanding games at 1080p. You should switch to an R9 390 while you can. Also, stay away from Corsair CX and VS series if you can. Get a Seasonic S12II 620.
The CPU choice is ok.

I respect your opinion, CX series is the only PSU that hasn't failed me so far, sea sonic doesn't have a good record in my book. The GPU already cost me $280 and benchmark shows any game runs fine at 1080p. *Consider 45+fps more then enough*

Also, closest choice to that CPU is an i5 4460 that runs a bit better for $40 more.

Regardless i'm not gonna pay $1300+ for slight graphic changes.

That's a good catch, still haven't ordered CPU/Mobo yet. What do you think about this choice for replacement?

Or would you just recommend a different cooler for the fx setup?

You could even go with a B85 board (no difference in performance)
Cuts 12 bucks off the cost and gets a bit 0.3 turbo speed faster.

The 970 chip sets are just not really good for a 125 Watt processor but usually no problems if you wished to downgrade to a FX 6300 a bit better air cooler and overclock it a bit.
I don't think they make a 990 board in mATX
I would still go with the Intel if it's in your price range.
I try to be respectful to peoples choices since switching to Intel would cost a bit more money and I know money is a issue to most people.

You've been very useful thank you! This is the updated build

Do you think the i5 4590 is worth over the i5 4460?

I think for overall gaming performance in almost every game ever made you will get better performance than the FX 8350 with either one, if the 15 bucks price difference is not a issue then yes the 0.3 extra turbo speed would be worth it to me.

Awesome, thanks for all your help. Looking forward to start 2016 with a nice new PC, glad I checked in with a forum before purchase. :)
