I am using a 1080p monitor at 60hz and as its fairly new I have no intention of buying another one for a few years yet (or until 1080p gaming is no longer a thing).

Please bear in mind this means I do not need a GPU that puts out 120fps at 1080p, or 60fps at 1440p or 4k. All I need is a card that will likely cope with 1080p in ultra settings at 60fps in most games for the next few years.

Please can I ask if the AMD 570 and 580 are still relevant? How about the 1600 3GB and 6GB models?

I have noticed three new cards on the market - GeForce 1650, 1660, and the 1660ti. How are these for 1080p gaming?

Many thanks.

Erm yes it was, I had one and it was great for 1080p gaming on max settings.

I sold my 970 a year ago, went to 1070, 1070 died a week back, and here I am.

AGAIN I DO NOT NEED A 1440P GPU, I am playing in 1080p at 60hz.
But if you want the GPU to last at 1080p 60 you should get a card that's for 1440p now. Even now here is a benchmark for borderlands 3 at 1080p ultra, a game that ame out this year and the RX 590 can't even hit 50. You can get it to over 60 if you alter some settings but ultra isn't even the games highest preset. I had a 980 about 18 months ago, struggled to hit 60 maxed out on a few of the games I had.

i was using 1600 3gb before, and for 1080p at ultra 3gb was not enough
im on 1700ti now and 1080p/1440p @ ultra no issues at 60fps
1660ti is slightly weaker than 1070ti, but it should handle 1080p @ 60hz with some headroom

I was using an ordinary 1070 and that was overkill for 1080p gaming at 60fps. Sadly it died last week. Money is tight so I`m not concerned about more than 2 years headroom.

I recommend rx 580 8gb. I am using rx 580 4gb on my other desktop and it was doing well on 1080p gaming. Minimum fps of most AAA games do not drop 50fps, usually 70 to 110 but for more texture/ultra setting it requires additional vram so I recommend 8gb.

And rx 500 series are quite cheap these days but better than gtx 1060. You can also use dsr as well and enhanced sync.

580 is on my consideration list but I might cover myself by making sure I definitely get my 60fps. I have noticed how very cheap there are so I haven't ruled the 580 out. Thanks, I will consider your post.

The only games that I've tested so far that are below 60fps are mhw and control. And it's because of lack of vram (seems 4gb is not enough for these two, max settings)

My issue with what you're saying is "A few years". A few years ago someone would say a 970 would be ok for 1080p in 2018 or even 2017, it really wasn't on demanding games. Personally wouldn't go lower than a solid 1440p card like a vega 56, 5700 or 2060S if you're wanting it to last a while.
